About the Mindfulness Trail

The following description may be used or adapted for articles,
media coverage, and community calendars.

Approved Organization Description

The Mindfulness Trail is a nonprofit educational trail in East
Warren, Maine, where science, history, and curiosity turn an
ordinary forest walk into a discovery experience. More than a
mile of easy-to-hike trails invite visitors of all ages to look
closely at the stories hidden in trees, rocks, stone fences,
landforms, wildlife habitats, and the remains of earlier human
activity.

The trail is also an evolving outdoor discovery laboratory.
Visitors can follow ongoing projects involving an 18th-century
stone foundation, early farming, ancient shorelines, forest
diversity, and the dating and mapping of old pine trees. The
Mindfulness Trail is free of charge and welcomes questions,
observations, and new interpretations from everyone who visits.
