There is evidence that this land was used at various times for different forms of farming.
We can learn about farming in Maine from all the evidence we have found and all we have yet to find.
You can help!6>
Spaced between the rock piles that we’ve identified so far, there are likely more waiting to be uncovered.
We are working to document and geolocate all the rock piles that we can find, so we can produce an accurate map of the crop field that was once here.
If we excavate we may even discover artifacts that were lost or tossed away.
We are seeking volunteers to participate in this project.
Help turn back the pages of time to reveal the 250-year-old story of farming here -from subsistence cropland to sheep pasture to blueberry fields and perhaps more.
